Dear Mission Team:
Happy Holidays! I mean….Merry Christmas!
I am writing to give you some updates on all things Dominican Republic related.
We’ve had some awesome fund-raisers so far, and are looking forward to more success from our Christmas Card fund raiser and our upcoming Super Bowl Sunday Soup-Off. Be looking for more information on this awesome event coming soon!
I have created the schedule for our team meetings before our trip. These meetings are mandatory. If you cannot come to a particular meeting, please let me know in advance. The dates are: January 15th, January 29th, February 26th, and March 18th. These meetings will occur immediately following the 11:00he 11:00

WP-Bible plugin worship service. Kim and Damon Bland, the missionaries that we work with in the Dominican Republic, will be leading the meeting on January 29th, so please make all arrangements possible to be at this particular meeting. We will also be hosting a packing party on Friday, March 30th. We will be leaving VERY early on Saturday, March 31st, so that is why we pack the night before.

I have also attached some very important documents to this page. The first two are paperwork that must be filled out, completed and returned by Sunday March 4th, 2012. This includes the paperwork that must be signed off on by a doctor. Also, if you or your child does not have a valid US passport, please go ahead and apply for one. We must have three copies of the passport (one to carry with us, one to keep in the youth office in case of emergency, and one for our travel agent to properly book and ticket our flight), and these must be in to the youth office by February 8th.
I have also attached the official support letter guidelines from the Mission Council. This is to help you in crafting any support letters you may be sending out. Please have all checks mailed to and made out to the church, with your name (or your child’s name) in the memo line. It will be credited to their account. Sending out support letters is a huge thing. Some people steer away from this because people may only send them $10 or $20, but those $10/$20 checks really do add up. People who wrote support letters were very blessed in the giving from all of those who sent checks back. It is a huge huge huge help!
I know this may sound early, but we are just a few days over 3 months away from LEAVING for this trip! It’s an awesome and amazing and scary realization. Can’t wait to start building our team up for the work God has prepared for us.
If you have any questions/comments please do not hesitate to call me or email me!
Blessings,
Joe
